Post subject:  Tradition & Progress in the Empire
This list marks what is the general known disposition of Families within Clans as well as a few most important individuals toward the notions of Tradition and Progress. Family disposition is some fluff resultant of opinions of daimyo, majority of samurai and vassal lords. Clan disposition is a mathematical outcome of dispositions of constituent families and individuals. Each subject can have one of six dispositions: Very Traditional [-2], Traditional [-1], Neutral [0], Progressive [1], Very Progressive [2], Unknown [?].

The Emperor was an exception as he contributed 5 points toward Progress end of the spectrum as long as he lived. But he died, and the Regency has no impact, also because Oborozukiyo is neutral. Emerald and Jade Champions and the Head of the Brotherhood doubling as Imperial Advisor contribute both to the Imperial tally and their respective Clan tallies.

Tally: 2 + -10/+10, so anything from -8 to +12 [No-one knows where the Empire is heading, but undisputed ascension of Hohiro is not in reach.]

The Emperor died, so any result between -10 and 10 results in Imperial Regency and an open struggle between Hohiro and Jama that may break out into a full civil war during Game #4. If at any point a result lower than -10 is reached it means Hohiro's undisputed ascension as Hantei the Tenth. A result higher than 10 means Jama becomes Hantei the Tenth in an undisputed way. Up to -5 and down to 5 their ascensions are disputed. Anything between -4 and 4 is a window of opportunity for other candidates to claim the Emerald Throne.
