"Behold my fellow citizens, this here is an honest and honorable merchant that has promised to grant me one of his beautiful carpets in recognition to my status as the luckiest man in the world," his honeyed words were sure to draw another crowd. "Please my friends, sponsor this man and buy from his stall so we might count with more honorable and honest merchants!" |

The man was flabbergasted. Now everyone would expect freebies from him and go elsewhere at a no. He collapsed on a cushion. "Take the carpet, effendi. I am finished anyway." He said quietly, tears rolling down his cheeks. |

The merchant had been silly not to recognize him. Normally he would have revealed in the weakness of the man but today was different. Today he felt merciful. "And let it be known that he has blessed me and stayed true to his word," he proclaimed, the carpet in his hand. "So let it be known now that this here, the honorable and honest merchant, shall be in the protection of me, Aksabir bin Almuhit," he paused as he proclaimed his name, eyeing the reactions of the crowd. "Let it be known that to try to rip him off is to rip off from me. And my tolerance for liars and thieves is none." He turned to the man with a smile and winked. "Enjoy your newfound wealth." |

...I don't understand merchants Suihime shook her head. The poor merchant painted himself into a hole, and now was at the mercy of Zaiberu. |

The man was too confused to follow Zabieru's reasoning but he eagerly accepted the lifeline. "Efendi, if you know how I can best sell my carpets, I am happy to be under your protection." --- Zabieru has an option to ge Product (1) Merchant Patron feature for free provided he's eligible to claim it i.e. he has purchased Location, Port Network and Merchant Master for East Port or West Port. If he does so, the Trade actions his vessel takes for the remainder of the game need no further justification - his vessel will be shipping materials and ready carpets, cushions and knitwear between ports. |
