The hatchet is real. It hangs as a signpost of what is a shop with sometimes accidental collection of military hardware. Aram was a Mamluk engineer once, one of the very first. He lost his leg in the siege of Raksiraka. His tinkering with viable prosthetics turned him toward intricate wood and steel devices. From there it was a short leap to sabres and muskets. He pawns equipment of this kind, and some say he's not beyond re-offering a stolen or scavenged blade or gun some urchin has brought to him. He's a jolly fellow with a very incomplete dental situation. Long ago he was a Ra'Shari but he doesn't remember much from those times since he had become a slave as a young boy. What harkens to his heritage are his musical and performance tastes. Whoever purchases a blade may try to perform a dance with his purchase. If Aram is entertained, he'll offer a discount or even give up the item for free. |
