There was no shout, he had overpowered her quickly, hand covering mouth as the rest of her was squeezed in an iron grip she could not escape. His teeth dug in where the make-up flaked, the taste of caking paste marring the first jolt but it stopped to matter when it started flowing heftily. The terror didn't last long as she lost consciousness quickly, but he finished anyway, draining as much as he could. Then, he cast what remained into the dumpster, most of her dead body sinking quickly into wet garbage. Not caring to push the legs sticking out, fuelled by new strength he hurried northeast toward the Misty Road, answering the call. The full moon above him was his only witness. /exit (Open to up 3 PCs after an hour or so) |

The den of scum and villainy that was the Tangled Rope had always hit a soft spot in Xabier's heart. Moving beyond the fetid stench that always lingered around the waterfront, there was a feeling of nostalgia about the first times he visited it or when he used his first paga to sample the pleasures of the flesh. Now he was so different to the first time he walked those streets; he was no longer a teenager with a whispy beard but rather a full-fledged pirate that carried himself with pride as he thought of his accomplishments. A full moon. Hikari hadn't even realized. With nearly drowning the other day, the revelations about the ki-rin being here, and the whole finding a place to stay drama... she just hadn't thought about when it'd be a full moon. Of course, her authority probably didn't mean much to the locals anyway. She'd have to find some sort of official sanction. And there probably wouldn't be anything to worry about here anyhow. Still, once she'd seen the moon through an open window and realized... she decided to take a stroll through the west port nonetheless. |

Yasuhiro wasn't sure what dragged him back to this part of the city, it was a smelly, winding, mess, and he hadn't expected to return anytime soon. Still his grandmother's words had sent him forth and eventually he found himself back. His bow was with him, but he hadn't bothered with his armor, it really hadn't seemed all that important this late. |

The rapid stride of her ragamuffin was what drew Hikari's attention. He appeared from nowhere and vanished just behind the corner of a dark alley behind the House of Smiles. She hadn't seen him this fast before. She hadn't seen any cat to be this fast before.

She couldn't be more right. Azuki was sitting near the dumpster with the woman's legs sticking out of it hovering over him, slowly slurping blood from the pool that had formed when it had been first spilled. Bloody droplets formed on his whiskers and shone ominously in the light of Lord Moon. |

Hikari froze; several thoughts going through her head all at once. Not again. Not here. Who is she? Is that normal cat behavior? The Lion arrived on the scene not long after, looking around the area briefly before his eyes landed oh Hikari holding a cat by it's scruff. "What's going on here Seppun-sama?" The Tortoise was drawn by the noises and afterward by the distinctive Rokugani garments cringing slightly how they couldn't adapt to the new world. he approach them, noticing the corpse dispassionately once he arrived. "Mina-san," he commented as a small smile crept. "I see you're having a fairly fun night. Though I must warn you that murder is normally frowned upon in this island." |

Whether or not she'd caught the cat, she turned to see the other two individuals there. It seemed to be a rule of thumb that whenever something like this happened, she'd soon be joined by others who were entirely unqualified for the subject they were dealing with. The Matsu she immediately recognized, the Tortoise took a moment but then it clicked. She gave the both of them a quick nod that doubled as a light bow. "Silly me," she said, light tone of voice, "and here I thought it was frowned upon everywhere." |

Hikari was the only person who could mistreat Mr. Cuddles so and be forgiven. It didn't mean he didn't fight back, meowing and pawing. Human blood was not easy to come by if one was not killing humans, just birds, and he didn't see a point in giving up on the opportunity. Though when the others appeared, he began staring at them, amusing himself by seeing their karmic traces. |

He eyed the woman dispassionately trying to see what killed her but grew tired quickly turning to the woman. He noticed some passing resemblance but couldn't, or didn't care, to put one and one together. "So," he stiffled a yawn. "Did you kill her?" He eyed the cat with a smile. He liked cats, they were very good rat catchers through the good ones tended to become fat and swollen with the product of their hunts. |

She was sure the cat had been exposed to Jade before, but she nonetheless decided to take hold of her finger of jade and pressed it gently but firmly into its fur. Just in case. He had homed in on the blood, after all... which surely was odd behavior for a cat... was it not? While doing so, and watching for any reaction, she continued to address the others. "Perhaps you might be able to tell us if she is a local or with the fleet." |

Poking with coloured stones made Azuki feel indignant, and he conveyed as much in his glare at Hikari, then climbed onto her shoulder. If she wanted to carry him around, so be it. |

Yasuhiro quickly dismissed the man as a pompous fool, it was too late to start verbally sparring with a piece of filth, and anyways there were more important matters at hand. "Could I be if any assistance Seppun-sama? I am no expert, but I have some experience following tracks." |

"Indeed," she said, sighing as the cat did its thing. "Go ahead and see if you can find us any tracks, if you would." Hikari meanwhile, went to look at the body. She was not inclined to touch it in any way, but hopefully she could discern if she was dealing with the same threat that she'd been tracking back in Dragon Guard City. |

She raised a brow, seeming... amused? Yes, amused at his need to argue. "Is it not? That's surely debateable, one might say." She dug into one of the containers she kept at her side, pulled out a piece of candy, and stuck it in her mouth to chew on. "Whatever the case might be," she said, in between chewing, "my authority in these matters still supercedes that of any other Rokugani present on this island, and that includes anyone who has a position in our fleet." She looked at him for a moment, one of her cheeks puffing up before she pressed her index finger into it and swallowing a moment later. "So, I don't suppose you recognize her?" |

The top part of the woman was deep in the dumpster, sunk into rubbish. The legs sticking out, already claimed by rigor mortis, were very pale at the ankles. |
