That morning, Kunshu Maru had arrived from the East Port carrying a load of cargo for the local merchants. Guards were posted on the quay to keep the riffraff away as longshoremen bore crates and baskets of cargo off the ship and into one of Muhaki Aiteru's warehouses. The captain was supervising the men as each item was unloaded and checked off of a list. Shipping cargo back and forth wouldn't have seemed a very martial activity to most Lion samurai, but Kitsu Keiji had been trained as a quartermaster and he knew the importance of logistics. |
