The search for housing supplies brought Yasuhiro to the beaches he had visited the day before. Departing from the small boat that had taken him her, he flipped the man the promised silver and made his way further up the beach. He wasn't sure what he would find, likely shells and similar object, perhaps some pretty stones.

He also planned to gather some food as well though, so he'd brought his bow. There were a myriad of different food sources here, and hopefully he'd find enough to fill his stocks, maybe even enough to barter some for vegetables and other things from his landlord.

There was a man hunkered near the treeline, examining something. He wore a pair of black sirwal, the cuffs tucked into a pair of sturdy leather boots with a low heel, and a deep indigo kurta. His hair had been gathered into a small top knot with a long tail, bound into sections, the end reached past the bottom of his shoulder blades.

On his right hip was a parangu, the blade short and brutish, and he had a musket with a bayonet attached slung over his right shoulder.

It was a familiar figure, and so Yasuhiro started to make his way over, making no effort to hide his approach, his sandaled feet crushing the sand with each step. "Afternoon Kinbest-san." He greeted, as he came closer.

Rising and turning, Khenbish recognised the man, "well met." The man had fired off a dozen syllables worth of name when they had met, leaving the Unicorn uncertain as to which part to use, or even if he remembered all it.

There was a dry snort, from his grandmother. I bet ugly over there doesn't even remember your name. She murmured dryly. I bet his social skills make yours look impeccable.

"What bring you here?" Yasuhiro asked, gesturing towards the beach. "Duty?"

"I'm hunting." He indicated to the tree trunk he'd been examining, near the base the wood was slashed and scarred, "there are wild pigs around here."

"Ah! Yes, many pigs here. Heard can not hunt though, called pooching?" It was likely the wrong word, but he hoped is was close enough.

"I do hunting too. For bird, and crab."

Khenbish frowned slightly, he hadn't about that. "Bah. Poaching. No one will notice one pig, and pig is the better choice: more meat, slower to spoil. If I shoot a pig, I'll split the carcass with you."

"We talk about that if you shoot pig. If I shoot two birds I give you one though." It seemed like a good enough gesture, what he was hunting was not likely to get anyone in trouble after all. "You like pig? For eating?" He asked as he started to scan the trees for birds.

"Pig is good, goat is better, but goats don't run wild. You prefer to use the bow?"

Goat was even more unclean then pig, well as far as the Lion knew. It definitely sounded like something the dragon would eat at least. "Yes, bow is faster, shoot further. Trained with bow since child." He offered in explanation, polietly leaving out how musket's were loud and smelly.

"No," Khenbish disagreed, "effective range is about equal, but better damage and armour penetration. Not as slow as you think, either." Scanning the brush for signs of movement, "I trained with, uh, horseback bow. The musket is much harder to master. Worth it."

"Would say there is quite big difference, if archer has skill at least." The Matsu replied evenly. "Musket is very powerful though, not seen many very fast with one though. Is always ponderous, slow."

"Could be you are fast though."

Khenbish half shrugged. Having wielded both weapons, he could say with first-hand experience how they compared. No skin off my nose if roko-ghan doesn’t listen to reason, he dismissed, roko-ghan doesn’t even have proper shoes.

The Matsu had too wielded both weapons, but it was the Musket he found lacking. Perhaps the bows the Gaijin had used were of inferior workmanship, that would likely explain it. How could they they make anything properly, they didn't truly know dedication after all.

Finally he spotted a bird, high in the trees, and he released, his arrow slicing through the air, and felling the creature and sending it falling to the ground.

Khenbish nodded, though his attention remained on the undergrowth. He had spotted a rustling, and was tracking it as it meandered in a westerly direction.

Meanwhile Yasuhiro moved to collect his kill, and prepare it for the journey home. Normally he would have a servant do these tasks, but those weren't really available at this time. Perhaps the man would find the Pig, perhaps not. Either way he didn't know if he would accept it if the man offered him a share of it..

Sure enough, a pig broke from the cover, lifting its snout and scenting the air. It was, perhaps, 100 feet away, and Khenbish regretted that he wouldn't have the chance to display the range on the musket, but the trees and undergrowth blocked clear lines much further than that. He brought the musket up to his right eye, sighted, and there was a thunderous crack as the weapon discharged.

The musket ball struck the pig below the ear, punching through the thick bone of the skull. The boar was dead even before it could even hear the retort of the firearm. With liquid efficiency, the Moto man plucked a small object from a pouch, biting off the end and spitting the twisted piece of paper to one side.

He had already flicked open the pan with his thumb, tipping in a small measure of gunpowder and snapping the pan shut once more. He lowered the musket, dropping the cartridge into the barrel, sweeping the brass rod from its holder, tamping down the ammunition, and returning the tool to its resting place. The entire process took no more than ten or fifteen seconds.

The man was quick, though he could of gotten at least and arrow or two into the air in the same amount of time. Still he gave credit where credit was do, and the other man got a appreciative nod. "That is rather quick Kenbist-san."

"Was fine shot as well."
