The afternoon found Kitsu Keiji back at the Imperial Naval College, in a musty old room full of maps and charts. Having sailed around the bay for much of the previous day, the young Lion was convinced there was one small reef that was not shown on the official navigational charts. Having meticulously updated his own map of the shoreline, Keiji carefully pored over the official charts to see how they compared. Indeed, the tiny reef was absent from the official document.

Naturally, the official charts created and approved by Imperial cartographers could never be in error; thus, the only possible reason for the absence of these rocks on the Imperial maps was that the ink must’ve faded over time. The librarian seemed willing to accept Keiji’s tactful explanation, and agreed that it would be proper for them to “restore” the map to its “original” form.
