The festivities following the wedding of Noriko and Ietada expand along the central channel of the Moshi Wharf. Across from countless paper lanterns floating on the water al who matters anything in Dragon's Guard City has gathered. Sake, the coconut chili wedding surimi soup, a bold variation on red-and-white dish, as well as many small but exquisite snacks are sprawling the tables scattered across the area. Lord Moon in his full glory douses the celebrations with his pale light.

Moshi Zenshiro is handling most of the spontaneously occurring wedding emergencies as the newlywed enjoy drinks with their families, friends, collaborators, pupils and allies.

The whole area has been cordoned by Seppun guards and is very safe to wander. Couples, perhaps inspired by the prospects of marital bliss, find many reasons to discretely wander off...

Many couples did wander off, though as one of those few people that did not have a betrothed, at least of yet. Yasuhiro found himself in the main group of people celebrating. Though celebrating might be a bit of a strong word for what the Lion was doing.

Having procured a cup of Sake he wandered through the crowd, more people watching then anything. Despite his best effort to make it seem otherwise, he still felt slightly out of place after all.

Suihime was at the afterparty, conversing with a few, smiling warmly and enjoying the party atmosphere. The conversations finished, and she returned to wandering the party.

Hikari was present, looking a little lost perhaps when seeing so many couples. She had a lot on her mind. Aside from personal troubles, there were other matters of concern she would soon have to deal with. In fact, she probably should be out there right now, setting up wards... but maybe one drink and a stroll wouldn't hurt...

Eventually Yasuhiro's path would cross with the shorter of the two twins, and seeing a face he had yet to get to know the Lion would offer a bow. "Good evening Seppun-sama." He offered polietly. "Are you enjoying this evening's festivities?"

Oh. A Matsu. Joy.

Hikari was pulled out from her inner world and gave the man a light bow.

"One is impressed by the effort they have put on," she said in response to his question... simultaneously being polite and not really answering the question.

And then her eye spied something. A table. Full of snacks. Not far. She felt compelled to excuse herself and head straight for it... but she didn't. Instead she went the more subtle approach, using a gesture to invite the Lion to walk with her... 'coincidentally' in the direction of the snack table.

"And yourself, Matsu-san?"

Of course there was joy, the most joyous of joys. A Matsu was about after all. "It's a very fitting way to celebrate the joining of such a honored pair." Yasuhiro replied easily following the lead of the Seppun girl towards the table of refreshments.

Look at her pudgy cheeks!! Oh! I just want to pinch them! Why can't I pinch them!? ....If you ever get the chance you need to pinch her cheek. You hear me Yasuhiro!?
"...I don't think we've ever had the chance to be properly introduced. I'm Matsu Yasuhiro no Koritome, first officer of the Ashitae Maru."

It somehow felt fitting to have a big festive event like this so soon to the departure of the fleet for Jama's mission, Utsu reflected with some good humour as she looked at the ones gathered for the party. A lot of it reminded her of her own wedding; how relaxed and friendly so many samurai can be during such celebrations, and put aside differences.

Then perhaps a little too much reminder of her own wedding, as she remembered how young and naive she must have been back then.

A generous mouthful of sake was the go-to solution against her darkening thoughts, but it didn't do much.

Various eminent personas were easing their social perimeters, enjoying the wedding as much as anybody else, drinking sake and chatting.

[NPC selection in this thread is wide.]

"Seppun Hikari," she said. "Daughter of Seppun Kentoshi-ue and resident Jade magistrate."

And then there were snacks! The table full of them had arrived; or rather they at *it*. Keeping her wits about her, Hikari did not wolf them all down, but instead acquired a modest handful of them and placed one in her mouth.

"So," she said in between chewing. "First officer eh? Congratulations."

The youngest daughter of Seppun Kentoshi was here of course. Hinami walks around, alone, exploring the party's grounds. She looked around and saw her sister talking with the disturbing lion.

She was interested in the papers lanterns, and watched them from certain distance. She wondered if she did the right thing about her engagement arrangements.

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance Seppun Hikair-sama." Yasuhiro offered dipping his head respectfully, he noticed the arrival of the other Seppun; this ones sister, but didn't make any moves to invite her over. Instead scanning the table before setting down his cup of sake and selecting a piece of mochi.

"Thank you." He replied easily dipping his head in thanks. "It was a unexpected honor, I hope I am up to the task." He took a bite of his mochi and swallowed before continuing. "Have you received you ships assignment yet, Seppun-sama?"

"I believe they're putting me on the Yamato," she said, still chewing.

"Ah, the vessel Captained by Suzume-sama?" It was the rear guard if he recalled, a interesting choice. "I've yet to meet the man, but he seems skilled. The same for his first officer, Yogo-san." He politely invited the number of snacks the young maiden was consuming. Even if he was beginning to wonder if she ever stopped chewing.

"As my subordinate within the Jade Office," she finally swallowed, "I can attest to Yogo-san's competence."

Assault of peasants notwithstanding.

Figuring out that some socialising would be the best for her mood, Utsusemi began to mingle with the other guests. Moving with grace and poise, she begun to engage in polite chit-chat with various guests and visitors, and the wheel of social interaction eventually led her to some of the more important ones.

Seeing the familiar colours of the Crane, as well as recognizing the man wearing them, she bowed deeply. "Asahina-sama, good evening."

"Good evening, Agasha-san." Yajinden's social instincts led him to pace the turn and the courteous bow to the timing of her approach. "Are you enjoying the celebrations?"

"Very much so," she nodded slightly. "Though moments like this are always nostalgic for us married types, I must admit, but still a reminder of many good memories. We wish all the best for the new couple."

"But I take it you escaped the matchmaker's efforts yourself? I have heard no word to indicate otherwise." And she was quite certain that any betrothal to a handsome and famous man like Yajinden would be a popular subject for the rumour-mill.

"Oh, I am a little notorious in this regard, that is true." Yajinden chuckled with amusement, hiding it behind the tip of his folded fan. "But my manifold duties in service of Hantei Jama-no-kimi don't leave an opening for marital bliss. I hold a controversial opinion that it is better not to have a wife than to make her miserable and desperate by negligence and excuses." His eyes narrowed and arched in apparent mirth. "Think of me as one of those chaste and dedicated onna-bugeisha, just not really an onna, nor a bugeisha."

"I admit bugeisha is not the first thing that comes to mind when I think of the Asahina," she replied in mirth as well, only barely hiding her smile with her open fan.

"Though the Empire would be an emptier place if all samurai held the same opinions... alas, it is some of the burdens in the name of Duty. Not that I fault Asahina-sama for his opinion, nor consider it too controversial, as your service to Hantei-no-kimi must come first. Just as I do not fault Ryuden-sama that he must prioritise his duties as well."
