He should of waited longer apparently. Repressing the urge to sigh he waited for her to approach before setting off, leaving her the option to follow him or walk by his side.

The question came as a bit of a surprise and a soft frown made it's way onto his lips as Yasuhiro contemplated his answer. "Because I couldn't find a better place in the empire to learn about firearms. Not in the way I wished to at least."

Hinami wondered about the Lion's answer as she walked beside him to found the exit.

'' Hmmm, I see. In which way you wanted to learn about them?'' She asked, neutral tone of voice.

"I wanted to learn about how they are used in combat, the most effective ways to use them, as well as their various weaknesses and strengths. As well as the common tactics of the Gaijin that use them." He frowned, eyes moving up to the sky, though his feet kept moving. Apparently he knew the paths here well.

"I suspect that's not too interesting of a reason though."

'' Hmm... once I heard that the gaijin used them in big groups, not that i know much about them. '' She said as they walk towards the exit of the maze.

Though she was interested in such topic, she didn't want to give the lion the impression that she wanted to know more. But curiosity was far more intense.

After a long silent walk she finally asked. '' So, have you learned anything useful?'' She said with a dry tone.

"Some, we've been taught quite a bit about their use in the marines as well as the naval college. I've spent much more time on gaijin tactics though, as you said large groups seem to be a fairly common tactic. Arranged in ranks, so one rank can fire as the other reloads."

"Those are often supported by cannons, which are more or less overly large muskets." He didn't want to get into too much, the topic was likely boring for a courtier.

'' Cannonu? '' She tried to dissect that gaijin term, but she could not image how they work. Gaijin and their heretical magics. '' How do you counter their tactics then?'' She asked again.

"Yes, huge cumbersome things... They aren't really something you see in the empire, but from what I understand they are highly dangerous." He frowned briefly, before shaking his head slightly and attempting another smile.

"Well, their two main weaknesses seem to be their range and the time it takes to fire. The range of a yumi is far greater, so a group of well trained archer's could likely decimate a unit of musket wielders. The other is harder to exploit, though if you can lure them into firing, they are vulnerable to cavalry, as well as a charge to the flank. The second being something of a weakness of their formations. "
