Susumu pointed in silence and approached the cocoon with a kama drawn out, intent on freeing the woman. ''Be ready to catch her if she falls'' he whispers to Keiji |

Keiji nodded. "Watch also for whatever did this to her," he whispered back. The Lion drew his sword and approached the cocoon from a slightly different angle, wary for a possible attack. |

Susumu began slowly cutting the threads, making sure not to harm the women on the cocoon Who are you? |

Keiji stood guard, scanning the area for possible enemies as Susumu cut down the spiders' unfortunate captive. |

As the spider silk grew sparser with the cut, it became obvious to Susumu that the woman inside is none other than Seppun Kaiya. She seemed to be... sleeping, as her eyes were closed but a shallow breath was moving her chest. There was a sad grimace on her face, as if she was disappointed that this is how it would end for her, being a spider marinate. |

There was a sharp intake of breath and his eyes widened as Keiji recognized Seppun Kaiya. But he said calmly and quietly, "Let's get her to safety, immediately. She will need medical attention." |

Time seemed to stand still for Keiji as he moved toward the creature almost without thought. Heedless of his own safety, the young Lion stepped directly into the spider's reach in order to deliver a powerful blow with his sword. -- With light armor, Keiji’s ATN is 15 instead. Resist Fear 29 hits TN15 Attack kumo, Kenjutsu 35 hits TN30 40 damage inflicted |

The brutal slash severed two front legs of the creature. It shrieked, stood on the latter ones, and descended unto poorly defended Keiji. EM10. Attack vs. Keiji: 7d10o10k4-2 31 The filthy, venom spewing fangs dug deep in the Lion's shoulder, immediately infecting the wound. EM10. Attack vs. Keiji. Damage.: 6d10o10k2 27, 24 after Reduction; -0.2 Jade, under the influence of Venom (Physical Stats down by 1). [Susu is up!] |

[Keiji is out of combat.] Round #2 The shrieking spider separated from the wet sack of its first enemy and rushed toward the Mantis. It was hard to rush without one pair of legs, and the clipping fangs went wide. EM10. Attack vs. Susu.: 7d10o10k4-15 13 |
