A knock sounded at the door of the brewery as Ruqqayah arrived as they'd arranged not long before. She wore a different scarf today - a bit higher quality material, damask woven, though the colors were similar to before. She waited patiently outside for Suihime to arrive. At least the meeting time had allowed her a little extra sleep. She'd been a morning person from an early age, and the later nights were a little tough. She could tolerate most conditions, though. |

Suihime, on the other hand, had risen early from a quite horrifying vision. While most would have spent time trying to recover from what she saw, Suihime instead grabbed for her calligrahpy kit and papr, noting every painful detail about what happened. She knew better than to dismiss it as just a dream. She knew the Jinn visions well by now. This one had been extreme though... It was only 10 minutes before Ruqs arrival that Suihime remembered she had a guest coming. It was long enough for her to get some water for a wash, and to dress, tying the Obi on her Emerald Green kimono just as the door knocked. Stacking her papers to the side, keeping the last one very much hidden, she went down the creaky stairs and answered the door. "Ah, Iuchi-san" Suihime bowed "I hope you are well? Please, come in." She stood to the side to let her in. The ground floor was, other than the machine, entierly empty of items. On the wall however, Ruq would instantly see the pictures |

Ruqqayah bowed to the other woman, stepping inside the room and removing her shoes. "Very well, thank you, Miya-sama. Thank you for having me this morning. I hope you are doing well, also?" Her eyes wandered the room after she stepped in. Her movement paused, though, as her eyes landed on the pictures. She closed her eyes, folding her hands, going through a prayer in her mind, undoubtedly. Thank you...! |

She could tell beyond reasonable doubt that somewhere in this house, likely below her, there was a khadi's sorcerer's heart hidden. Even cursory look at the walls told her where the excerpts and incantations were coming from. She had studied those in the past, with great trepidation. Reu Nu Pert Em Hru. The Book of the Dead. With the realisation, the chill set in. Exhaled air suddenly started to show. |

She echoed her own realization aloud. "Reu Nu Pert Em Hru..." It filled her with trepidation, as studying it always had, even now. But it also filled her with hope. If only she had more time to study in here, she could fill in the gaps in her knowledge, the gaps in even the Senpet's knowledge... "This is... troubling, Miya-sama..." Visible steam rose from her lips as she said so. |

"Senpet... Excerpts from their Book of the Dead," she explained. "There's a basement below here, isn't there?." She looked around the floor. "I guess it's not surprising there isn't an obvious entry. But wouldn't they need... Then does this detail...?" It was obvious she was getting lost in thought, even as things were becoming more ominous. |

Suihime would know no more than it was a central religious text of the Senpet Empire. That culture was very ostentatious about burials of their rulers and dignitaries, building great tombs called pyramids, filling them with treasures and artifacts, designed to entrap and curse the trespassers who disturb the glorious dead. It was perhaps relevant that blasphemous spelunking in such places must have required knowledge and skill. Suihime had her own unsuccessful attempt at spelunking back at Dragon's Guard, so she could have an idea of challenges involved in braving something much greater and more vicious. But from that perspective it was not suprising that the way down here had been obscured. |

The sudden spike in temperature the other way, to extreme heat, made staying in the house unbearable. They both exited with haste, with at least one of them making plans to return. /scene |
