Ruqqayah appeared at the door of the brewery, at least sort of refreshed and uninjured. This would be the last of it... the last thing she needed to do before it was all over and she could go home... make her apologies... explain what she could and deal with what she couldn't. She wasn't sure what was waiting in the malt vat, but at least she knew Kaiya could get through it. She could support her, at least. Then the heart. Finally. |

There were a token few things that Kaiya didn't know about, or at least that was the impression she tried to create. Whispers had pointed her here. Something of interest to the Iuchi woman resided within these walls. Leaving a need for Kaiya to learn just exactly what that was, and she couldn't entrust learning of that to anyone but herself. For it was a card she hoped to add to her hand. |

"I'm ready if you are," she said, heading into the building once Kaiya confirmed and touching the sigil she'd seen before about life beyond death. She wasn't sure how to get in, but it seemed a solid start. |

Kaiya offered a solemn nod. What times, what days had passed had been a tiresome few. Not without their own wears on the woman. However, rather than show it, she held to her front of focused determination upon the task that lay directly ahead. |

The house was like Ruqqayah had left it. Temperature inside was high, maybe unsurprising at midday, but the stuffiness inside drew perspiration quickly from the bodies of both women. |

Ruqqayah looked to the tools she had brought last and and picked a hatchet from among them, taking it to break into the vat with both hands. |

Kaiya had entered with Ruq, surveying the room with a newer purpose. What had been familiar to one, stood out as different to another, and Kaiya was sure to learn everything she needed to know of her surroundings. |

As the hatchet buried in the tank, foully sweet-acrid scent of rotten meat and heavily fermented barley assaulted their senses, and the dark liquid began to pour out and splash onto the floor, making it slippery. After a second strike something caught the hatchet's head and forcefully tore it out Ruqqayah's hand. Seconds after a powerful blow cracked another hole in the vat, followed by a pull of a hideous, clawed hand tearing out a large piece of the vat... Quote:

Launching from her readied position, Kaiya eliminated any doubt the shake in her hand caused in her strike. Breathing deeply, calmly, she dashed forward against the creature once it lashed out against her comrade. Blade flying from it's sheathe to the air at Kaiya side in the blink of an eye the woman came to a stop just past the creature. As she had before with the spider. Once again, her blade dripped a foul ichor. Kenjutsu: 71 vs 35, Strike. Damage: 29 [24 after Reduction] Full Attack Stance ATN: 10 |

The blade cut through the cervical spine and made the two-thirds-severed head plop onto the opposite arm, with ichor bursting richly. But it didn't stop it, and the ghul was equally not gentle with the swordmistress. Its beer-soaked claws dug deep, tearing the woman's side, as its yellow eyes, now at a weird angle, still stared unmovingly and its jaw clapped. EA13. vs. Kaiya (TN10).
