A scenic spot accessible only through an arduous journey up the stream of Puahu and along a muddy, seismically active area contains hot springs of crystalline waters that may not be good for drinking but are excellent for bathing. Torn straight out of the jungle, they are a small turquoise paradise.
Right beyond, a relatively smooth ascent onto Mount Kappa from the southern slope is dotted with various lime forms, including numerous caverns big and small.
