The following way to calculate your stipend for the game applies to both new and returning characters. 1. Check the stipend that goes with your school. 2. Check this thread to see where on the Tradition-Progress your relevant faction is. Tradition means less trade and thus less money, progress means more trade and more money, according to the following: Quote: Very Traditional: -50% of your original stipend Traditional: -1 koku Neutral: base stipend Progressive: +1 koku Very Progressive: +50% of your original stipend For this purpose alone, regardless of their real stance, all Scorpion families are considered Progressive and the Unicorn Very Progressive, while the Fox - Traditional. If you are a member of the Emerald or Jade Offices and/or their respective Legions, you also apply respective Shioden's or Tokaji's ideological stance to it, cumulatively. By the same logic All Brotherhood characters get Sozan's bonus, all Heralds receive Yukitada's bonus, and all who have been Imperial Explorers by winter 499 (either declared to be during the formation of the corps during the prior game or have chosen Imperial Naval College as their College Advantage) get Jama's bonus, in addition to the above. 3. Check this thread for the Clan modifier depending on the economic conditions over 499, cumulative with the above. 4. If you are a returning character and have not purchased Wealth Advantage during downtime, add 1 koku for every rank of Wealth you have. New players receive only the printed amount from Wealth (4 koku). --- Any other money gains/expenses related to Stations, Techniques etc. are sorted out case by case. |
