It can cover the costs of renting for as long as you stay there but is then considered spent on this i.e. cannot be used on something else later.

Oh, hey, just noticed the Lore: Nature 5 mastery that I'd completely forgot about! I need to abuse that!

So, you're rolling against the TN of the Artisan or Craft roll, plus two raises. Let's say I'm rolling Engineering against TN20. If I'm calling raises on the Engineering roll, does that affect the baseline TN for the Lore: Nature roll? Like, I'm calling one raise on Engineering. Is that Lore: Nature against TN25, with two raises, for a final Lore: Nature TN of 35?

Also, is there anywhere on the beach conveniently close to civilization and not too terribly dangerous? I'm considering a beach house.

Are there any results for the search and rescue event?

Wasn't sure if we qualified for any people salvaging any of their possessions for example.

#1. Yes. The final TN of the Artisan/Craft is baseline, and you're still limited by the total amount of raises you can call. So people with Void 3 and no Great Potential in Lore: Nature can call just one raise on Artisan/Craft to be able to use Lore: Nature MA. The more ambitious you get with your creation, the harder it gets to benefit easily from your background knowledge.

#2. I'd say jungle-foraging community south of Little Aqahba east of Cay of Trials could give you a shot at this, but those are very ungratifying environs if you looks for baseline luxuries.

Just a few small questions for fluff:

- What sort of foodstuffs is there on the island? I know there's pork, cabbages, and seafood (because island!), but what about things like rice, or other grains/cereals?

- When looking for images for the "local fashion", should I be looking for a specific time-period of dress for certain countries, or is more fantasy-like stuff fine (like Game of Thrones-styled outfits)? I'm guessing in such a multi-cultural place like this, there's been some blending of styles and aesthetics?

EDIT: For gossip, do we use Glory or Reputation to determine TNs?

#1. What can reasonably be produced by a Caribbean plantation in terms of produce, and what can reasonably be imported within 1-2 months of travel sans refrigeration from Rokugan, no-Europe and no-Middle East.

#2. A mix of what is acceptable as Rokugani, Spanish Colonial, European Late Medieval/Renaissance, Arab under Caliphates and in early Ottoman Empire.

#3. Reputation. Gossip requires local population to go around.

This has probably been asked before. Possibly even by me...

...but would it be possible to justify learning the basics of a language (with the appropriate xp expenditure) in just a few days if you're super smart? Or are we going to need another longer downtime to justify it?

I could get behind this quick expenditure if it was Merenaese, since it was spoken on ships between sailors. For other languages, not really. I could reward some role-playing in this direction at some point. Alternatively, get yourself a translator? I could extend the offer I gave Hinami, a Servant Translator with a discount for 2 DP.

is the triggering condition. So for all of you, D6. For the purpose of this tech, the whole of Kameyama (but not what's beyond the mist) is considered a province-sized area. Even if you don't know what exactly there is in the interior yet.

Apologies if this has been missed somewhere, but are there specific mechanics for exploration? Or do we just go to a place, declare we're exploring, maybe putter around a bit.

To clarify, I'm wondering about slots required, rolls required, etc. Possibly different for ship vs. land.

For exploring the interior, that's more or less it. It's good if you roll something explorative, Tension-based or just some random Inv/Hunting or whatever. This will give me an idea what to bring onto you. I have a few undisclosed Interior locations and I am making more. If you stumble upon one of them, your thread will be moved to the proper subforum.

The sea exploration north operates differently, but I had elaborated already on it. You need to come in prepared teams.
