Kimono, in its basic at least, is surprisingly easy to make, and since it's for Rokugan I wouldn't worry *too much* about replicating things perfectly. L5R is allowed to take some artistic liberties, after all.

If you want to buy kimono and accessories, I strongly recommend Ichiroya ( http://www.ichiroya.com/ ). The amount of detail they list on each item is very nice for selecting garments that fit you, and the family that runs the shop are incredibly sweet and friendly (I used to send them postcards back after a purchase, as they would usually include a postcard with my parcel

Due to lack of space, I haven't expanded my collection in a good while). There you can pick up stuff like tabi, sandals (both geta and zori), haori-ties, juban (underkimono), koshihime (ties for securing your kimono in place), as well as bolts of fabric (mind you, they only sell whole bolts, last time I checked)!

Oh, they also sell hakama! Given how complicated hakama is to make compared to kimono, I would recommend it actually... especially since the correct fabric for hakama can be difficult to find, unless you're lucky with your local fabric shops. You can also buy hakama from martial arts-shops who sell attire for aikido and similar martial arts.

Hmmm, fancy.

I'd seen a few designs around, and yeah, Kimono all seem to follow the same general concept. I had seen somewhere that men's sleeves would be sewn up the bottom on both ends, so it could serve as a pocket of sorts. Not found any good examples of it yet though. Haori also seems to be a shorter kimono you wear on the outside, so that's also straighforward enough, I'd just make it a bit bigger so it fit over the other kimono... that would just leave if I'd need a juban, and if I could make the hakama myself.
