Based on the content of this thread and some plot knowledge some players might share because of their involvement in this particular plot, I'd like to ask you to give me feedback where in your opinion the story should go in this particular regard. Ask if the essence of this decision is not clear. The result is non-binding, but in a situation like this where I control both NPCs it's a bit hard to draw a line what's a good response.

Playing a progressive, almost super progressive, character, U voted for defiance. If only because my character sees the world as a larger whole, and Rokugan is only a part of it.

Globalization, not Imperialistic.

*nod*

I should mention that it for now extends mostly to Merenae and is without prejudice for the future actions of both. We're not yet at the point when everything is being decided. XD

I don't see defiance losing this, so I'll throw a token vote for the other side

I support alignment. At least on the Unicorn side. You can see my character's argument for it in the thread. :)

I’m probably refraining from voting for now. Belle will try to make the best out of either potentially bad outcome.

Those choices seem very black & white, the domination part especially.

The key thing here is 'right now'. It is a short-term decision.

Defiance then seems to be a suicide attempt for both long and short term objectives.

Honestly, I understand how it’s tough to play both parts but I’d probably prefer you making an executive decision based on what you decide to be the general direction you’d like it to go. I personally trust your storytelling capabilities.

I didn't know how to say this is what I want to see until they said it. It's your story, Kannon, and I think you're more than capable of not "railroading" us into anything terrible.

I'd also suggest doing as you will.

It's your game after all.

After seeing how hard it was just to get the drunks out of the Shrine of Agasha Kasuga, Wataru realizes that a domination would be an attempt on changing culture, theology, language, and essentially the full nation of Merenae, which doesn't sound probable to him. And not only that but you'd need the support of the Empire, fully, an Empire that is already broken and cannot face this. So I vote defiance.

Does also help that Wataru does not think the best of the Prince Jama.

The voices have evened out, and there have been some for me to make my own call. I think Saionji's stance reflects that. Closing this.
