Tori's under orders to get someone with military experience and a level head as her second in command. As our two Lion military types are spoken for, I think the best available candidate would be Isao, but if anyone has a better idea, lemme know.
Also, I have literally zero people committed to my boat and no access to Discord at the moment, so an advocate would be appreciated.
Yuki would be quite welcome on the Stingray for the arts and culture side of our mission, which just got a spike in importance. It would also put him in a position to chaperone an un-hitched captain. And it puts the two courtiers from shugenja families together. He would, of course, be a guest, not a crew member under Tori's command, as he's of higher status than Tori herself. Which would, unfortunately, mean kicking the first mate out of their cabin for our distinguished guest. >.>
Hinami would have been a similar fit, were she not already claimed.
Kuuru would be a major boon to the SCIENCE! side of things as a member of the crew, but from what little I know of the character, he seems almost the exact opposite of what Tori was ordered to find in a first mate.

Interesting...
Looking at you, a conservative Shiba nikutai would actually be a strong candidate for first mate of the Stingray for a number of reasons, many of them political. If Isao turns the post down, that is. Though it would earmark a significant block of your XP for a crash course in Sailing and maybe that next point of status, if you don't find some other means to pursue it.
That said, if Isao accepts, then Isamu wouldn't serve much purpose on the Stingray and would be better off on the war boat.
