He nodded. He looked at her for the last time that night as he took his cloak from a beam and threw it over his arms. Flecks of emotion smoldered in them before he shut his lids. Not looking at her, his face recomposed into something infinitely more impassive and regal, harsh and unforgiving. When he opened them, it was without looking at her. There wouldn't be any sentimental farewells. He just stepped out of the mill. There, the other cloaked figure was waiting with horses. |

She waited until the hoofbeats disappeared before she let out a long, soft breath. She brush her fingers lightly over her belt without think and then left the mill herself, closing it up behind her and returning toward town. /scene |
