Yasuhiro had arrived early, and was waiting calmly in the sand in seiza awaiting his opponent. He had no intention of making the man wait after all, no matter how much he might want to. His eyes watched the water, as he gave silent prayers to various deities. It was with their strength he would prevail this day. |

Ringo arrives curious as to watch the 1st duel involving an Imperial Explorer is about to take place. Now that he thinks about it, it may be the first time he gets to spectate a duel. So he comes for as much information gathering as curiousity. He offers polite bows to everyone though remains silent for the moment. |

It was a dark moment, as Wataru reached the beach to see his First Officer facing his opponent on the southern beaches. There were many who had come to show their respects to the Lion samurai, and many who probably wanted him to fail. Wataru remained silent as he watched, standing near Gusai Susumu, giving others the opportunity to come near them. |

The Tortoise appeared, a sly smile on his face. He was happy he'd be able to fight in front of his goddess. He would make sure to honor her with the blood of his opponent. |

Tsugiko would monitor the proceedings on Jama's behalf but it is Haruka who should be adjudicating. |

Indeed, since it was Haruka who set these events into motion, it was only just and fitting that she be present to see the duel carried out. Thus it was that she was there to see observe the act. |

Anzai was dressed in his formal kimono. His hands behind his back as he prepared to watch the proceedings. He stood near the Emerald Magistrate. He had figured it would be wise to attend, in his new position as her yoriki. |

Yasuhiro rose to his feet as his opponent finally arrived, though he hadn't even been looking in the man's direction. Turning to face him he offered a bow in greeting. "Are you ready Muhaki-sama?" He asked softly, before moving into the circle, showing him own readiness to begin. |

With the peons hard at work with the menial labor involved in setting up the ceremonial space for the funeral, not far from here, Hikari had come to observe the duel itself. She was formally dressed, appropriate to a funeral but lacking some of the likely religious embellishments that she'd don later on. |

If it had, The Matsu would of likely had little chance, as it were he let other thoughts slip away as he focused in on the man in front of him, trying to find out what he could about him. ----------- Rolls Assessment = 25 (dunno how void turned into Go, but I did use void on this roll.) Looking for void, Reach insight 3 for purposes on assessment. |

The Muhaki eyed the man. Iaijutsu wasn't his specialty but he knew enough of destreza to understand at the core they were the same. He prepared to strike the moment he noticed any weakness. --- Focus 51 |

The Tortoise sensed a weakness in the Matsu's form and struck, the katana feeling cumbersome in his hand. Once his blade bit the Matsu, he flicked it clean and turned towards the magistrate. He had won. --- Strike 49 Damage 6 |
