The Yogo watched the proceedings with a blank expression. What are the Fortunes suggesting here? She glanced at her superior. How fitting. I am sure some saw this duel as an end to their expectations. |

Though not skilled in swordsmanship, she is at least conversant. The Crane make sure of that. And the result is clear. The Fortunes chose Zabieru in the matter, but clearly not because he is in the right. The Matsu's will was weak. His form was shoddy. He was not committed. This was not the Fortunes favoring Zabieru, but their forsaking Yasuhiro. He is not the one to lay low this gaijin. But the Tortoise will make his true colors undeniable soon enough. |

Suihime remained neutral in her expression; the duel was over, and the matter decided. It meant she had more work to do, having to find a new first mate, but there was nothing she could do. She remained for a while longer, watching to see if anything else would happen. |

Tsugiko followed after Haruka with her own words. "The Imperial Admiral respects the will of Fortunes expressed by this outcome. Therefore, by the will of Hantei-no-kimi, Matsu Yasuhiro is divested from his position as the First Officer on Ashitae Maru until such time when he can distinguish himself again in dutiful service to the Empire. Even as charges levied against Muhaki Zabieru as the rationale of this duel have been proven false, the Imperial Admiral retains reproof of the captain's recent conduct in his presence and strongly expects that Muhaki-san's future actions will be in conformity with Bushido and correspond with the dignity of the position he occupies. If this proves not to be the case, further personal decisions will follow." |
