She nodded slightly, "Are you the song writing type Hida-san?"

Ringo shakes his head. "I have not tried writing any songs yet. I just picked up singing sometime last year. Most of the songs I know are ones that men in the army sing. So they are usually battle motivational songs or ones about women." He smirks a little at that last part.

Bellena simply nodded.

Ringo looks over to hear and lightly smiles. "Do you want to hear one Muhaki-sama?"

“If you feel so inclined.” She replied.

Ringo nods and prepares himself. Then he lets out his voice and sings a very fitting song.

"Wishing on a dream that seems far off
Hoping it will come today.
Into the starlit night,
Foolish dreamers turn their gaze,
Waiting on a shooting star.

But, what if that star is not to come?
Will their dreams fade to nothing?
When the horizon darkens most,
We all need to believe there is hope.

Is a Fortune watching closely over me?
Can there be a guiding light I've yet to see?
I know my heart should guide me, but,
There's a hole within my soul.
What will fill this emptiness inside of me?
Am I to be satisfied without knowing?
I wish, then, for a chance to see,
Now all I need, (desperately)

Is my star to come...
"

Bellena maintained a face that looked out to the sea with unchanging resilience. She listened carefully and then nodded at the end. "A pretty tune. Is that a common song where you're from?"

Ringo chuckles. "I don't know to be honest. Though the only songs I know are mainly ones that the Crab army sang while we were on the march or such. So most of the ones I know are battle morale boosters or rather bawdy. This one was a better choice considering the setting right now and in the presence of a lady."

"And why is this song better suited for a lady?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Well the other ones involve tearing off their clothes or dismembering our enemies." Ringo comments.

"And women have no interest in that?" She asked.

"Not to say they do not but such talk is generally considered a bit crude." Ringo replies.

"I guess you do not find it offensive Muhaki-sama?" He asks. Then again she does spend a lot of time on sea with gaijin sailors. So she probably has heard a lot worse.

"Perhaps. Or perhaps I'm just able to tolerate it."

Ringo chuckles. "Well I hope if you find it offensive to let me know. Otherwise I guess I will play it safe around you Muhaki-sama."

"Do you sing at all Muhaki-sama? Or have interest in some other art form?" Ringo asks.

"May I inquire as to what interests you may have Muhaki-sama? Aside from the star reading you mentioned earlier as it seems to be purely work related in nature." Ringo asks.

"Sometimes people are fortunate enough to have something as both profession and a hobby. I'm a scholar and advisor... So I enjoy the acquisition of knowledge." She replied.

Ringo nods in approval. "Education is a wonderful thing. As Shinsei once said, 'Fortunate is the student who can learn something new everyday.' "
