With wind filling Kunshu Maru's sails again, the captain was on deck issuing orders as the crew underwent ship-handling drills. The ship made a series of hard turns, first to port, then to starboard, then the command was given to the Imperial Marines to prepare to repel boarders. Powder and ammunition were too dear to fire against imaginary enemies, so the teppodoka simply raised their weapons to threateningly each time the command was given to fire.

Keiji nodded his approval as the exercise concluded. "Good," he said. Then a command: "Again."

From the helm of the ship Bellena maneuvered the boat with skill as she watched the proceedings carefully.

Kenzo took a place near the front of the marines. His pistols were shorter-ranged than the guns of the marines, and he held his wakizashi in his left hand, ready to help deflect the attacks of boarders.

Just as with the other marines, he raised his weapons when the command was called, yelling when appropriate.

It seemed her investment in giving Cook good supplies to add to the crew's food had been for the better, as most seemed to be staving off the ailments of sea-sickness and scurvy. It had come from her own personal funds, so she knew it wasn't much, but it was a relief to see that a little bit was helping. And those who were showing signs of scurvy were given some extra with their rations.

So far, it was nothing that would affect the ship's operational capacity, she noted, finishing the last examination for this morning.

Chief Engineer Ringo stands ready on the deck. He follows the Keiji's orders as he gives them.

"Sir, yes sir!" He continues along with the drills.

When they are complete he will go about checking on the status of the ship to see if it is still in good shape or in need of repairs.

/ Scurvy = 10. Pass.
Rolled in event before but rerolled again. Still passed. /
