As rescue teams began returning from the caves, Edogawa requested the wounded, and those who might tend to them, be brought to the Yamato Maru. The ship had not been in active service for some time and had room to accommodate treatment. Beyond that, he hoped that the kami attached to the ship might be helpful to the shugenja on his crew and any others, like Yajinden, who might show up to assist. |

Since he had been found, Wataru was taken, by the rescue team, to the Yamato Maru, under the request of Miya Edogawa. He was one of the severe injured who had been found still alive, and able to be saved. The samurai could barely speak coherent words as the pain shot through him, and he got used to the magic that had healed him in the first place. |

After bringing Wataru aboard, Edogawa had left him to summon the ship's priest. The shugenja was a young artisan who had come with the others to work on the new temple. The excitement of the voyage had inspired a sense of adventure, however, and Edogawa had been convincing enough. Ringo is brought to the Yamato Maru as well by the rescue team. He large Crab is still heavily injured and cannot move on his own. He is at least still conscious. Utususemi had done what bandaging she could to prevent any wounds from opening and bleeding again. |

The magic of the shugenja was impressive. He placed his hands over Wataru and removed all the pain and suffering from him. The wounds closed easily restoring tissue and skin in its place as if nothing had ever happened. The breathing of the samurai came to slow down, going back to normal, and his mind was once more focused. The samurai was able to finally reopen his eyes once more and speak without struggling. He was still weak so he could not hold his body up yet, as the magic needed time to reach through him. "Edogawa-sama." He spoke as he saw the captain behind the healer, and became aware of what was happening. "You are an unexpected and most surprising image to find. I thank you and your crew for the assistance." |

Susumu stood before the Yamato's boarding ramp grimacing...mostly due to the spider ichor he just finished scrubbing off his shoes "Good morning" he called out "Permission to come on board?" |

Wataru took note of the name that the Miya had said. It was the first time he had heard it, and he owed her his own life. He would have to make up for it. Then came in his captain. His feelings were mixed, he could not understand his own feelings. He felt that somehow Susumu had betrayed him, taking over the control of the men that were assigned to him, yet it was that which had saved the troops and the situation. He had only hoped that the captain had taken over after he had fallen, not before. His face showed his discontent towards his captain, as he remained mute with a sad expression on his normally cheerful face. |

The samurai was on a verge of tears, he respected the man before him, idolized in some way. He had tried to emulate what Susumu had achieved on the Walrus on his troops, looking first for a steady place for them, but he had been overshadowed by his past. They had not been able to see the effort the Gusai had placed on the Teppodoka, even learning how to fight as one, despite his lack of martial ways, and they had given to Susumu's words at the first time available. "You usurped my command." He was able to say with a great breath held in his chest. "and they accepted it without a second thought." he punctuated with a lower, sadder, tone as he released the air. |

The samurai held the gaze on his captain, trying to remember the last images in his blurred mind. "I was in the midst of a fight, things were going well, as they didn't push further into our troops. I was going to recover a unit that was surrounded by the creatures. The spider creature that I was fighting against ran away, and then I turned to my troops and before I knew what was happening they were following your orders." |
