'' ...and that's why our culture, brought by the Kami, is worthy of admiration and awe. The Son of Heavens in all his wisdom allowed his Second son, our most beloved prince, Hantei-Jama, to bring enlightment and civilization to those who are worthy of it...''

Hinami used her words and graces to explain to these gaijin how superior was Rokugani culture compared to their own. Her servant, a ronin translator named Megumi, helped her to convey the message to the people of the surroundings, in merenaese. The message has mixed reception, on one hand people were truly impressed by this young courtier girl and her clearly refined ways of acting and speaking, on the other hand some could felt insulted.

But once her intervention was finished, Hinami decided to pursue her true purpose of today visit to the gaijin part of the island, information. '' Megumi-san, let's go.''

'' Hai, Seppun-sama'' The ronin translator said.

Ringo is wandering the streets when he spots an Imperial that he saw before. He offers her a polite bow. "Konbawa Seppun-sama. Have you had your rice today?"

Oh, Hinami was surprised to see the Hida around here. '' Hida-san. '' She bowed to him, the female ronin bowed behind the Seppun. '' I had Inari's-no-kami blessings today, thanks. Have you?'' She asked politely as well.

Hinami was in a good mood since her public intervention with the gaijin worked. '' So what brings you here?''

Ringo nods. "I have indeed. Thank you for asking Seppun-sama. I hope that the trip and this island has been treating you well since he last spoke." He idly glances at the ronin woman behind and returns a bow to her as well.

"Well I decided to come visit this port and she how things are like here. It is drastically different than the west port in a lot of ways." He replies.

"Have you been keeping busy Seppun-sama?" He then asks.

'' Hai, quite drastically different, and not in a good way...'' She said looking around to the barbaric gaijin. '' But we have a job to do, and duties to fulfill. These savages need to understand our superiority like I said to you back in Rokugan. That goal has not changed especially since how violent and pitiful these gaijin are...'' She was refering to the earlier 'attack' to Jama.

'' In any case, my real purpose here today was to look for information about the island. I wanted to know who is in charge of this side, and who is important. Do you know something about the east port, Hida-san?'' She asked.

Ringo nods. "Not that much. I met with a Unicorn samurai... formerly the Ki-Rin clan that left the Empire to explore. It looks like they run this port. I don't know who is in charge here." He shakes his head at the quick summary.

"Despite the difference in style and tastes... it still is nicer to look at than most of the West Port run by the Tortoise."

'' They are not the son's and daugther's of Shinjo-mo-kami, Hida-san.'' She corrected him. '' Only the Divine Emperor can decide if these so called 'Unicorns' are what they say they are. And if you ask me, they are probably not the noble Ki-rin clan. I mean, have you seen their barbaric ways?''

"I have not seen all of it. So that is hard to say. Though I suppose that do appear more barbaric than the Tortoise here. A bit less than the actual gaijin at the same time. There is something a bit familiar about the way they look." Ringo contemplates.

Then he nods to Hinami's assertions. "You are right Seppun-sama. Until the Emperor declares it so, we should take that with a some skepticism."

'' These so called 'Unicorns' practice some kind of institution called 'slavery', buying and selling other gaijin like cattle. Clearly a sign of a complete uncivilized people. They can't be the noble descendants of Shinjo-no-kami.'' She says.
