Post subject:  Seppun Kaiya, the Silent Maiden

Gender: Female
Age: 17
Height: 1.57m, 5'1
Weight: 53kg, 116 lbs.
Body Type: Slim Frame
Eyes: Royal Blue
Hair: Onyx Black, Long

Appearance:

A woman of surreal elegance, Seppun Kaiya is the image of Kakita born serenity. Utter calm behind a blade just before the strike. Silence that pervades all else, something she wears in the subtlest of movements that further separates her from other Samurai of equal station. Dressed as one would expect of a Crane born Imperial, Kaiya does not forget her mother Clan when it comes to her wardrobe. Stylish kimono with eye drawing accessories on the backdrop of soft, regal skin.

Without the ability to speak her expressions are sometimes called on more than the average Samurai. Something to note with her new tendency to a cooler and more reserved demeanor.

What is Known: [Lore: Heraldry - TN 15]

Kaiya was not born Seppun, but of the Kakita to a woman named Tamiko. It was eventually her father, Seppun Akio that allowed her to be brought up into her rightful place among the Imperial families due to some mishap with the wedding between her parents that was supposed to be but never was. Born a Mute Kaiya was never to find a normal life among the Empire. From a young age she had learned to deal with far more than most. With the helpful aid of another child, her attendant Sakia, she had managed to gain some sort of normalcy among the Empire. That was until recently when she became a small piece in the game between Doji Tanaka and the Hantei Jama. Given her unique position in her Lords past she had become quite the point of contention, offering many a person to speculate as to the exact specifics of the situation.

Of personal merit, outside of the politics surrounding her. Kaiya has begun to develop a new way of speaking. Few have learned this new language, as the young woman is intent on refining it and guiding it properly, but word of it has certainly spread through the Imperial courts.

Trained in the way of the Kakita, Kaiya is a yet unproven duelist. However, there have been some clear shows of talents elsewhere of both mind and soul. Skill with the flute such that she could calm even the angriest, most volatile of souls and a mind sharp enough to find the way to bring the language of the Empire into an entirely new form. It was at Kyuden Nio that she refined her soul into the instrument that guides hearts and minds. While with the formation of the Imperial Explorers it is with this new college that she hones her mind to better serving the interests of all within the Empire.

Appearance:

A young, courtly girl. Sakia was born a peasant and dons much the attire of one. Little flare, and little to attract the eye she holds a dutiful elegance to herself. Speaking for Seppun Kaiya over many years, before she even became the woman she was today, Sakia was her voice and gained the confidence of communicating with greater persons than herself through needing to speek upon Seppun Kaiya's behalf.

Despite leaving Kaiya's direct service, and needing no longer return to the Empire, she often still prefers to dress humbly. Even if the turns of fate may one day afford her otherwise.

What is Known:

Little is known about the woman herself, but it doesn't take an interrogation to learn much. Sakia was born to a peasant family and taken in by Seppun Kaiya's own mother, Kakita Tamiko when she was young and the two became fast friends as children. Given Kaiya's unique condition Tamiko brought the girl up, offering her a life her parents could never have afforded her, in order to raise her alongside her daughter so that Kaiya might one day not find her affliction to be crippling. Even more importantly, to offer her child a friend in those early years. Something any mother knew was important for a young person.

Though they maintained proper appearances in public. Outside of the public eye Sakia and Kaiya were raised closely enough that the two acted more like sisters than anything. Allowing Sakia a much more relaxed demeanor around the girl in their private space. Leaving Sakia with a tempered wit, lest anyone attempt to will her into something she does not desire.
