General Profile Owner of a the city's forge called The Wheel, there's more to the man than a swordsmith. He's known to be an inventor in the field of chemistry, with a very practical approach to innovation that focuses on the use of his discoveries in daily life. His speciality are vivid inks, paints and lacquers he produces in his workshop adjacent to the smithy. It is said he has chosen the city for its availability of ingredients he needs and he is indeed often seen foraging in the vicinity of the Treacherous Pass. A white cat is often seen wandering at his place but Sanjuro claims it is not his and does not have a name, is just allowed to stay around until his owner or a willing keeper appears. Looks Sanjuro is a well-toned young man in his mid-twenties. He dresses ascetically, in drab colours. He could be considered handsome in one light and plain in another, and the most distinguishable features of his face are his bushy brows and his near-constant frown. He carries both swords. Juicy Bits Although he doesn't advertise it, he's the younger brother of Agasha Ryuden, shugenja-metallurgist of some renown, better known as a retainer of Hantei Jama. Sanjuro does not try to build on his brother's position but tries to carve his own path. He's proficient with more than chemistry. He has accomplishments in hydraulic engineering. He's known to have dealt effectively with poluvora and have helped Heichi Isao and Hida Ringo in their experiments with firearms. Doji Koharu, an artist, is rumoured to be his romantic interest and it's because of her that he's joined the Imperial Explorers, though they haven't been seen together for quite a while. He has some enemies; last year his smithy was mostly burned in an attack by a criminal mob. |
