Kaiya leaned in to listen to the translation, nodded her head and stepped forward toward the door. Knocking on it with the flat, bottom side of a fist. While it was understandable the others may have been a bit more comfortable with the behavior of those outside of Rokugan. Seppun Kaiya was not a woman who would suffer the ignominy of being spoken at through a piece of wood.

Detestable individuals they needed to cross paths with, but the woman was intended upon ensuring Rokugan had it's fair play in the matter at hand. Kaiya turned about from the building and began on the way toward their destination. There was little time to waste more on a man who was so uncouth.

From their acquired knowledge of the island they more or less knew where were the Caves of the Lepers. However, the main entrance to them had been battered by cannon fire and might not have been accessible any more. There wasn't even enough to claim that the lepers had survived it. Still, from their collective experience at the Vapid Gorges they knew that the northern part of the island was thoroughly perforated by systems of caves, so there must have been other ways in. How to find them, and how safe or unsafe they were was another matter...

Ruqqayah stepped up to Bellena, clearly in the process of doing something already, murmuring under her breath. She touched her friend on the shoulder and nodded, taking a breath. "There... That should help you find what we're looking for..."

After they arrived at the colony and saw the devastated entrance, Bellena began looking along the rockwall for another path that may lead inside.

After a bit she seemed to find something, "Hey, over here. Be careful."

Bellena proceeded along the path at a careful pace to keep everyone from falling.

They found a vent wide enough that each of them could descend by supporting the back on one side and feet on the other. Provided the size wouldn't change deeper into the funnel, filled with mists like a jug with milk. It would be safer with a rope...

They descended into the deep, narrow tunnel, slippery and filled with milky mist...

The free fall was long a bruising as they bumped into walls and each other [1k1 of non-explosive damage]. The longer they fell, the darker it turned, until it turned completely dark. It looked like there was only one outcome of this... death. There was no way they could survive the landing.
