Bellena’s mind raced. This was not the way she had expected to or ever wanted to die. She looked around for anything that could save them. Her heart offered a silent prayer to Kharsis as she fell.

Ruqqayah's eyes went wide as she felt the rope come loose and she felt herself start to fall. She scrabbled at the wall, slowing only very little as she skidded downward.

Kaiya, though unintentionally falling was new, fought against the closeness of death by forcing upon an inner calm. Soothing her nerves as they fell and quickly reorienting herself with the downward pull, eyes focused on any chance of how she might save herself.

The free fall felt unstoppable... and it wasn't. Until it was cushioned by a plunge in what felt like water first, but proved to be more like mud or fabric. It was after a moment of struggle that they all realised thanks to adjusting their sight to the luminescence of fungi they got caught in a large spider web! Its thickness and density were intense, and was giving them a sense of floating in adhesive silk that became harder the more they tugged. Kaiya knew the feeling all too well, and it filled her with dread, especially that there was a distant clicking echoing through the narrow corridors spreading all around.

• Agility/Weapon Skill for a bladed weapon you have on yourself vs. TN25 and dealing 40 structural damage to the web in sum will free you.
• Intelligence/Lore: Nature (Fire) vs. TN35 will let you know that cobwebs don't burn, but melt like candy, and igniting them will weaken the structure without spreading fire or burning the igniter. This knowledge can be shared. Raises called on this roll are FRs for the next for that character. The burning can be done with Intelligence/Craft: Explosives vs. TN25 which is treated as a Combat Roll and can have Raises for damage called. The web has to be dealt 40 structural damage in sum. Base damage is 1k1 per three loads of gunpowder sacrificed.
• As above, but any magically summoned fire deals its damage or 1k1 damage per successful casting roll, +1k0 per Raise. The web has to be dealt 40 structural damage in sum.
• Other, creative method character comes up with and GM agrees to put into mechanics.

Bellena thought quickly about their new equally distressing situation. She remembered the success she had with the webs exploring the caves and quickly got to work. “You can melt the webs!”

She warned the others as she rigged up a system of slow burning explosions that hopefully would set her free. As she lit the powder she felt the webs loosen around her. She ripped herself free as soon as her limbs could break the silky cords.

There was nothing about this situation Kaiya found amusing, even if on some cosmic scale it might be. Bellena's information would not prove useful to her, but the loosening of the web when she put her plan to action certainly did. Just enough that sliding her Katana from it's sheath was all that slight bit easier. Carefully slicing away at the web, concentrated on the effort at hand and sure to not allow her one slowly freeing hand to not get caught in the web again while she worked.

Spider clicking was approaching...

Twisting her arm to try to cut her other free, Kaiya found her blade couldn't reach anymore. Looking back her sword arm once again held by some of the web, constricting the movement just enough that it was giving her some trouble. Soon she had the arm torn free again but it had wasted precious time.

"Rukaiya, drop some powder." She said as she prepared to free her friends from below. She set up another system to free Kaiya so the three of them could get Ruqqayah out together, but the powder burned slower this time around.

Having tore her arm loose from the webbing Kaiya, along with the work of Bellena's powder, they had loosened the web a great deal. With the quick cuts of the Kakita she made short work of the spiders trap that still clung to her. Seconds later she stepped free and clear from the web of her own accord, sword still to hand.

Bellena closed her eyes as the sound of the spiders drew ever nearer. She reached her hands up and moved the powder around into an effective configuration and lit the pulavora. Her mouth whispered something peacefully and with focus as her hands zipped about...

"The Lady is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in her, and she helps me..."

She put her hand down and withdrew her rapier as she turned towards the noise.

Clicking finally took shape. At one of the more distant openings to the chamber, a large albino spider, lightly luminescent, took shape amid the murk that spewed it out.

Bellena's quiet murmuring seemed to give her the strength to face the monster that came around the corner. Her rapier in hand, she looked up to the Unicorn princess above her, ready to cut her free.
