Ruqqayah dropped to the ground, clutching the lamp. This had been such a disaster... all she could do was this last try. She worked with the seal and the lamp, trying to summon the remnants within.

The lamp... overheated so quickly Ruqqayah had to let it out. It began to spin rapidly on the cavern bed...



[Bellena is up!]

Bellena looked with surprise at Ruqqayah. "Ru! Let's get out of here!"

She motioned with her head away from the spider and started to run.

Reactions

A string formed between the residue that vaporised from the lamp and some other point elsewhere in the universe. The string changed into a crease, a crease into a rift and the jinn Ruqqayah recognised formed our of it, closing the rift by substantiating his existence in the mortal realm. He was smaller and bleaker, and of his three eyes two were closed, changing him into a cyclops.





"Who has summoned me with ineptitude and haste? I would not have answered were I without immediate purpose!"

His voice, not as strong as at the Painter Square, reverberated deep across the tunnels.

Spider and Bellena are 80' from each other. Jinn is 20' from spider, Ruqqayah and Kaiyah are 40'.

The spider didn't get the memo about jinn being mostly immortal and just hopped against it to claw his way through to his meal. The jinn materialised for a cruel surprise.

Kaiya held position, blade to hand, and watched the actions of her compatriots over the next few seconds.

Bellena turned as the genie emerged from the lamp, "A djinn?"

She stopped and turned around and sheathed her rapier before pulling out her pistol and walking towards Kaiya.

Kaiya's hold on her blade stiffens then relaxes, looking down and away from the battling Jinn and Spider. Focusing herself inward first, gathering focus.

Jinn puffed blue smoke of approval as the blessings of the Seal imbued him. A proper sahir for once, and one not unfamiliar at that in more ways than one. [Jinn healed.]

Spider and Bellena are 45' from each other. Jinn is engaged with the spider, Ruqqayah is 5' from them and Kaiyah is 15'.

Breathing in deep Kaiya launched forward off her heel, moving fast past the Jinn and just into his side. Stopping only a few steps past where the Spider stood. After the sudden spurt of energy and motion everything stopped. Kaiya's had moved from her left hand side up into the air past her right shoulder. Breathing deep her knee held to the ground for support as a drop of the spiders ichor fell from her blade to the cavern floor.

And with the ichor, there fell off the spider's fangs, cut off neatly by Kaiya's exercise in being one with the blade, the venom spewing richly from them in clicking convulsions. The creature shrieked piercingly in a painful clarion call to its arachnid kith and kin spread across the system of caverns.

Its rage was directed against the mutilator, and the mass of its body hit Kaiya with impetus.

The Jinn prepared a deathly blow to finish off the wretched creature but the spider's raging made it narrowly avoid the blue puff of killing smoke.

The spider kept raging against his maimer, but was getting increasingly erratic and inaccurate in it.

Without looking, Kaiya lashed back with a perfect strike, but the spider was a tough bugger and it didn't fell him even though it should have.
