Jinn, Spider, Kaiya and Ruq are swarming together. Bellena is 30' from them. Her pistol is loaded because it was the first load; the barrel was clean.

Spinning in agony, the spider hit into Kaiya with force.

In the mind of the jinn, however, those death throes were inconsequential to the creature's demise, so he focused on his original purpose. It flew toward Ruqqayah and stared at her with its only eye, thinning, stretching his essence to permeate her. [Complex Action]

"Accept me, descendant of Tsubei."

[Ghost]

The spider's blow threw Kaiya's sword lash off as she recoiled, distorting footwork.

Bellena calmly walked up the last remaining few feet to get into range as she fixed her aim on the beast.

During her walk she had been quietly reciting something to herself which now came to a close as she pulled the trigger, "... Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil."

And with that the ball traveled through the air and lodged itself into the beast.

Meanwhile, in the face of the creature's imminent demise and the jinn's essence surrounding her, Ruqqayah closed her eyes and nodded. "Yes." A pure and simple invitation

As the jinn of Qanon and Iuchi Ruqqayah, great-great-great-granddaughter of the first jinn-seeded Iuchi, were making their pact, Bellena's bullet buried in the belly of the beast and breached something vital, terminating its foul existence.

Jinn stared at Ruqqayah.

"So it shall be, for you and the son of a greater lineage in your womb. The thread of Awakening is being spun now. For the second coming of the defiant scion of Shilah and Kaleel, I shall be ready fourfold among my bahiya, so I shall give no quarter to Sayel."

And he changed into a mist that imbued her through mouth and nostrils, rendering her unconscious, tinting her skin in a bluish glow as she collapsed to the stone bed of the cavern.

The words of the genie struck Bellena hard. But as Ruqqayah fell to the ground unconscious and the spider spat out it's last dying breath, Bellena's thoughts of the implications of any genie-speak went rushing out of her mind.

She came to the side of Ruqqayah and cradled her head in her lap. "Ruqqayah! Are you alright?"

She looked up and down the blueish woman with alarm.

A deformed man aiming at them with a musket crept out of the shadows.



"What the Sea was that. That thing. Blue."

Kaiya, stood over the dead beast that still lay before them, leveled her sword off at the man who approached. There were a great many questions to be had but those could wait until at least someone wasn't pointing a weapon at her. One way, or the other.

Ruqqayah lay unconscious only for a few moments as the blue glow faded. She felt... different. Her brain quickly went back over and caught up with what just happened. Tsubei... He'd known her ancestor. Then the rest of it, of that, much was a mystery, though her background knowledge gave her some solid guesses. There was just one solid piece of new information in all of it. Her hand went to her own abdomen and she smiled to herself with a slightly amazed expression, murmuring, "We're going to have a son..."

She scrambled up when she saw people pointing weapons without moving. "What's going on?"

Bellena looked up to the leprous man as Ruqqayah came to. She raised one of her hands in a show of deference, "Excuse us, sir. We came looking for a man who lives in your colony. The entrance had caved in, but we found a tunnel that plopped us down here onto this web. My name is Muhaki Berena and this is Seppun Kaiya, and Iuchi Rukaya. We mean no harm to you or any of your associates."

"Why would you seek one of us."

The man stepped away to build distance between himself and the silent Kakita, focusing his aim on the woman with the sharp blade.

Had she the voice to command him she would, but for what she was capable she settled upon focusing herself and the point of her blade on the mans weapon. She would not let herself fall to such depths as to be spoken at with one of those things pointed at her. There was no way she would allow this other to place himself at a higher authority.

Bellena held her hands up towards both parties before replying to the man, “We were told a Malcolm Carrigan resided here. My friend is seeking to inquire about some family heirlooms he may be able to help us locate.”

"Malcolm's dead." The man paused, not lowering the weapon. "This is what you are, amateurs craving for his papa's money?"

She shook her head, "No, he had in his possession an item which forms part of a whole that reveals the location of things which belong to my associate and her family. We were merely hoping to obtain the item, or even a rubbing of it so we can combine it with the other parts we have."

"Hawthorne's map, yes? I heard about it. Immeasurable treasures and all. Hmmm."

The man might be knowing something but he was considering it.

"How much is this worth to you?"

"It is of great import... but what is it that you need?" She asked.

Ruqqayah didn't exactly have a ton of money on hand, so she offered the only thing that even might be of value to him. "I could cure your leprosy."

"Don't mock me, girl! I cannot be cured. There's no cure." He spat out angrily, moving his aim onto Ruqqayah.
