The lake was releasing sporadic bubbles, and the temperature of the water was not cool. Some vents must have opened recently. Bozu stopped for a moment to contemplate it. "I think he had chained it, so there should be a chain there to pull it out, concealed somewhere. Hopefully it did not corrode." |

After some poking around they found the chain beneath the bluish moss that had somehow found favourable conditions to expand rapidly. The chain did look dented, but perhaps it would hold? There was no telling how the water had treated the rest as it was more milky than transparent. Bozu rubbed his leprous forehead. "So, should we pull?" |

Kaiya stepped forward from the group, lowering herself by the waters edge into a squat. There were a myriad of reasons to be cautious about such depths, what creatures might lie within, or perhaps of even the water itself. Whatever the case was, it inspired Kaiya to take a closer look. The water wasn't too hot, at least right next to the rim. The scents were sulphuric, but acidity must have been tolerable as she noticed some plant life beneath the water surface. A quick dip shouldn't be harmful, maybe even good for the health. |

Kaiya reached a hand into the water at the edge. Pulling up what held in her cupped hand and then turned to the others, slowly tilting her hand and letting it fall from her palm. |
