There was no trickery involved. The Navy awarded full ownership of the Walrus to Susumu and removed the obligation to have an Imperial among his staff. He was bound by the will and orders of the Imperial Admiral only when he flew the chrysanthemum banner and was otherwise considered a Mantis captain on a Mantis vessel. |
