If a Bayushi Courtier is defending (Inv/Percep), do they get the free raises from Bayushi Courtier 1, because it counts as a contested social roll?

I only ask because normally investigation is not a social skill, but in this instance it is?

It never is, in this instance either. It is only Social for the defending. As stupid as it is.

There is no global event for D7. The Explorers are supposed to explore the Northern Waters. Any number of crews may commit to it on this day. These adventure modules will take priority. From now on any meaningful discovery brought to Jama's attention (location, item, map, pertinent information - GM's Call) will be rewarded by 20 VIP per discovery per meaningfully participating character (GM's Call).

Let's go with Artisan for simplicity. Base TN should be around 20, you get to "Fine" after 3 raises, extravagant after 6. The cost of materials is 2 bu plus one more per raise. Ready ones start at 5 bu but those are acceptable rather than extravagant which start around 10-15. It doesn't help that only D&G has a ready offer of them, though you probably can find something in the Hoof.

Having spent 2 days exploring "Big Head Island", is it permissible to use Imperial Explorer technique to create a map of the area? Or is that area un-mappable due to being an extra-planar location or some such? (Keiji has been RP'ing drawing maps of the area regardless, since it's What He Does, but I'm just wondering whether the technique actually works there.)

If it is for both people, if you took a servant does it cost your jade double? .1 for you .1 for the servant?

Pcs pay out each. You cover your servant with a single pip per roll.

For Loose Threads, is it okay to use the same roll multiple times?

Also, might Fortuitous Encounters be combat? Do we need to wait for them to resolve to continue rolling?

Are NPCs (like Sanjuro) available to help with the Loose Threads-event, in case there aren't enough people to go around for pairing up?

Also, just to clarify, the medicine roll for the event is a regular medicine roll, but starting at TN25?
