Utsu's been invited to join one of the crews OOC, but I'm not sure if I can accept incase she's supposed to be elsewhere because of her filling in for Ryuden.

Since the ships need to be outfitted and staffed by the PCs, or at least this is my impression from Jama in the captain event (correct me if I'm wrong), does this require the use of Duty points, and if so can players pool points together?

Just trying to figure out what it entails to join a crew and all that.

Only captain and first mate can pool DPs for the sake of buying perks in the Commodore Station. It doesn't prevent other DP holders from enriching the ship with boons of other Stations that make sense in the context (e.g. Merchant Patron).

Remember about PF-on-request policy. Ships can have them too to discuss OOC issues.

Will we know what positions/roles are required for each ship on the voyage ahead of time? Would help in working out who needs to be where for skills.

Will each ship get its own pf to discuss how to plan out the ship?

Captain, First Mate, Boatswain, Navigator. They can be aggregated in lesser number of people. (The commodore features suggest more, but when you buy a feature and there's a PC that fits, it can be him or her, if not it's an NPC). Other than that, it'd be good to follow the focus guidelines for ships and perhaps have someone to talk to the Merenaese members of the heimin crew. Teppodoka are on big four and there are no PC nikutai for the regiment I know of, smaller ones can militarise themselves to the extent they want. Please pursue what makes sense from three perspectives:

a) completing basic seafaring skillset
b) balanced distribution
c) rp opportunities

What are the characteristics of the Amateratsu's Grace in terms of Commodore traits? Just so we know what to purchase?

The same as others. Large vessel, foreign design, location. It starts with higher Glory though. Rest needs to be purchased.

That's what you have on board, a unit of teppodoka. They are half shoot, half melee, 4 squads. You can have melee.

Do Susumu and I also get +DP equal to the capacity of our ships, even though we were already the captains?
